Spatial Etch is an app designed to develop spatial sense among middle school students. The task is a spatial-visualization activity in which the learner is shown a geometric image for a limited amount of time (3 seconds), and is then tasked with drawing the image from memory. After the drawing is complete, the image is displayed and the learner can discuss how they saw and drew the image by recording a screencast which can be downloaded to the camera roll.

The biggest strength of this task is the discussion among students on how they solved the problem. How did they see the shape? What did they draw first? These questions can foster recognition that mathematical problems can have more than one single solution.

App Features:

*60 different geometric images included
*download screencast of learner articulation to the camera roll
*developed for children in grades 3 through 7 (ages 9 through 13)
